Dr. Zhong is a professor and Chairman of Department of Neurosurgery, Shanghai East Hospital, School of Medicine, Tongji University.
学术任职：中国抗癌协会肿瘤神经病学专委会常委、中华医学会神经外科分会青年委员会委员、中华医学会肠外肠内营养学分会神经疾病营养支持学组副组长、中国医师协会神经内镜专业委员会委员、中国垂体腺瘤协作组专家委员会委员、中国脑转移瘤多学科诊疗协作组委员、上海市医师协会创伤外科医师分会副会长、上海市中西医结合学会神经外科专委会副主任委员、上海市医学会神经外科专科分会委员、上海市医师协会神经外科医师分会委员、上海市浦东新区医学会神经外科专委会主任委员、英国《BMC Neuroscience》及《BMC Neurology》杂志编委。
Dr. Zhong serves as an executive board member of Professional Committee of neuro-oncology of China Anti-Cancer Association (CACA). He is also a board member of the Professional Committee of Neuroendoscopy of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association (CMDA) & deputy director of the Nutritional Support Group for Neurological Diseases of Chinese Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (CSPEN).
临床主攻脑瘤、脑血管病及脊髓病变的微创手术治疗以及神经重症(颅脑创伤、脑出血、脑缺血)患者的综合救治。
科研方面主要致力于颅脑损伤与神经肿瘤治疗新策略的探索和研究。在国际上首次提出：阻断胶质细胞上的NAAG肽酶活性有望启动内源性神经保护而成为颅脑损伤治疗的新方法。作为第一负责人主持国家自然科学基金（6项）、上海市科委（4项）等多项课题的研究。
入选上海市 “青年科技启明星”、“曙光学者”等多项人才培养计划；曾荣获“王忠诚中国神经外科医师年度奖”及上海市科技进步一等奖。
Dr. Zhong’s clinical expertise focus on the surgical treatment of patients with head trauma, stroke and brain tumors, especially interested in the pituitary adenoma multidisciplinary team treatment and the endoscopic skull base surgery.
Dr. Zhong’s research interests focus on the investigations of Novel therapeutic strategies for traumatic brain injury (TBI) and Neuro-Oncology. He is also a recipient of numerous research and investigation grants (including in charge of 6 grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China).
Dr. Zhong won the annual award of " Zhong-Cheng Wang outstanding Chinese neurosurgeon" in 2007.
