同济大学教授，主任医师(2级技术职称），硕士/博士研究生导师。享国务院特殊津贴专家。目前担任同济大学附属附属第十人民医院妇产科主任，同济大学医学院妇科微创医学研究所所长，亚太妇科内窥镜理事会上海办事处主任，卫生部妇科内窥镜培训中心主任。兼职第十届中华医学会上海妇产科学会委员，第二届中华医学会上海妇肿瘤学会委员，第一届上海市医师协会妇产科分会委员，上海医学会妇科内窥镜学组副组长，上海市卫生系统高级职称评审委员会专家，上海市妇科临床质控组专家成员等职务。

承担着五年制、贯通班临床医学生和研究生的妇产科学理论课程。作为导师，直接培养出和正在培养的研究生（硕士生和博士生）达30多名。多名硕、博士生被派往德州大学安德森癌症中心等世界著名学府联合培养。

程忠平教授擅长妇科微创手术治疗子宫肌瘤、子宫肌腺症、妇科肿瘤、盆底疾病、女性不孕；倡导微创手术，保留子宫，做完美女人的医学人文主题。承担国家自然基金等各级课题30余项，主攻子宫肌瘤、腺肌病、卵巢癌等领域基础研究；首创腹腔镜下经“程氏三角”经子宫动脉阻断治疗子宫肌瘤，提出并验证“单器官子宫休克”治疗机理假说；发现并命名宫颈旁“程氏立交”解剖结构，首创经盆丛神经子宫支阻断治疗子宫腺肌症，此外，在应用腹腔镜技术联合多学科评估和处理复发性卵巢癌领域也取得显著成绩。发表学术论文122篇，其中SCI论文36篇。主编《妇科微创技术基本功》。主办《同济妇科微创医学》系列国际论坛。兼职《GMIT》亚太微创杂志组稿人，《中国内镜杂志》常务编委，《中国实用妇科与产科杂志 》编委，《中国妇幼健康研究杂志》 编委，《cancer letter》等杂志特邀审稿人。曾获上海市劳模、全国卫生系统先进个人、上海市科技创新能手，上海市“高尚医德”提名奖，上海市“仁心医师”提名奖等荣誉称号。
