Professor Lu has led research projects as the Principal Investigator, including one General Program from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, one Innovation Medical Device Project from the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission, one General Program from the Shanghai Municipal Health Commission, one Pujiang Talent Program project, one Joint Research Project from the Pudong New Area Health Commission, one Model Full-English Course Construction Project from the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, and one Interdisciplinary Project from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. As a key participant, he drafted successful applications for two General Programs from the National Natural Science Foundation of China and one Outstanding Academic Leader Project from the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission, and contributed to several key projects from the same committee. His honors include the Second Prize of Science and Technology Progress of the Ministry of Education (ranked 2nd), the Third Prize of Shanghai Medical Science and Technology Award (ranked 2nd), the Third Prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award (ranked 2nd), the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award, and the First Prize of Shanghai Higher Education Teaching Achievement Award (ranked 6th). He has published 76 SCI papers, 31 as first or corresponding author, and 82 papers in Chinese core journals, with over 20 as first or corresponding author. He has authored one books as editor-in-chief and one as deputy editor-in-chief. He has filed 10 patent applications, with 2 utility model patents granted.
