共主持课题16项、基金总计1500余万，包括国家自然科学基金（2项）、军队重大项目、军队重点项目、上海市科委重点项目、申康科技前沿、校精准医疗重点等。分别获军队医疗成果二等奖、上海市科技进步奖等多项成果。建立了SP、基于TM的CBL等20余种先进教学方法，举办了3届国家1类继教班，获教改重点课题、精品课程、教学成果二三等奖多项。与霍普金斯、奥克兰等形成了较好的人才培养机制。研发了世界上首台肠鸣音监测仪及内置式移动光源等5项装置，获专利15项。发表论文130余篇，其中SCI 43篇（IF 145分），主参编著作十余部，获优秀督导专家、校A教评委、教学先进个人等荣誉。

Dr. Cai hosted 16 projects with a total funding of over RMB15 million, including 2 projects for the National Natural Science Foundation of China, major military projects, key military projects, key projects of the Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality, cutting-edge project of Shenkang Technology, and key university precision medical projects. Dr. Cai received multiple awards including the Second Prize for Military Medical Achievements and the Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award. Dr. Cai established more than 20 advanced teaching methods, including SP and TM based CBL, and established three national Class 1 follow-up classes. Dr. Cai received multiple awards for key educational reform topics, high-quality courses, and second prize and third price for teaching achievements. Mr. Cai forms a talent cultivation mechanism with high quality with Johns Hopkins University and the University of Auckland etc. Dr. Cai developed five devices, including the world's first intestinal sound monitor and built-in mobile light source, and obtained 15 patents. Dr. Cai published more than 130 papers, including 43 SCI papers (IF 145 points), participated in editing more than 10 books, and received honors including excellent supervision experts, level A reviewer in the university, outstanding individual in teaching, etc.
