先后主持5项国家自然科学基金项目、上海市科委启明星项目、上海市科委“曙光计划”、申康重大多中心课题、上海市卫健委临床专项科研项目、上海市体育科技研究项目、教育部博士点基金等26项省部级科研课题,累计资助基金超过1300万元。于2024年领衔开展亚洲首次“关节腔注射羊水纳米基质治疗膝骨关节炎”临床研究项目。近年来获得了上海市优秀学术带头人（东方英才拔尖科技平台）、上海市卫生健康学科带头人、上海市第十六届卫生系统“银蛇奖”三等奖、上海市教委“曙光学者”、上海市科委“启明星人才”奖、上海市人保局“人才发展”专项奖、教育部科技进步奖一等奖、上海市中华医学科技一等奖、上海市医学科技一等奖、上海市科学技术进步二等奖（两次）,教育部科技进步二等奖等多项奖项。累计发表中英文专业期刊文章130余篇(SCI 50篇，累计IF 超过200分，IF大于10分的有4篇，分别发表在Advanced Materials（IF=29.4）、Biomaterials(IF=12.48分)、ACS Nano（IF=18.027）和J Exp Clin Cancer Res（IF=11.16)。先后申请并获得了21项专利。参与七部骨科专著及专家共识的编著工作。
2009年至今承担同济大学医学院、南京医科大学、山西医科大学、安徽医科大学、徐州医科大学、南通大学医学院等多所院校本科生、硕士研究生、博士研究生相关教学任务，受到师生的一致好评。目前，已独立培养（包含在读）研究生32名，其中博士研究生12名，硕士研究生20名。先后获得同济大学“师德师风优秀教师奖”、附属十院年度“优秀研究生导师”（多次）、附属十院“科技精英”（多次）等荣誉称号。
Guodong Li has served as the principal investigator for 26 provincial/ministerial-level research projects, including 5 grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Shanghai Science and Technology Committee's "Rising-Star" Program, the "Dawn" Program, major multi-center projects from the Shenkang Hospital Development Center, clinical research special projects from the Shanghai Municipal Health Commission, and sports science research projects from Shanghai, as well as the Doctoral Program Foundation from the Ministry of Education, with cumulative funding exceeding 13 million RMB. In 2024, he led the inaugural clinical research project in Asia on "Intra-articular Injection of Amniotic Fluid-Derived Nanomatrix for Knee Osteoarthritis."
In recent years, he has received numerous awards, including the Shanghai Outstanding Academic Leader (Top Science and Technology Platform of Oriental Talents), the Shanghai Health and Medical Discipline Leader, the Third Prize of the 16th Shanghai Health System "Silver Snake Award," the Shanghai Education Commission's "Dawn Scholar," the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission's "Rising-Star Talent" Award, the Shanghai Human Resources and Social Security Bureau's "Talent Development" Special Award, the First Prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award from the Ministry of Education, the First Prize of the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award (Shanghai), the First Prize of the Shanghai Medical Science and Technology Award, the Second Prize of the Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award (twice), and the Second Prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award from the Ministry of Education. He has authored over 130 articles in Chinese and international professional journals (including 50 SCI-indexed papers with a cumulative Impact Factor exceeding 200, featuring 4 papers with an IF >10, published in Advanced Materials (IF=29.4), Biomaterials (IF=12.48), ACS Nano (IF=18.027), and Journal of Experimental & Clinical Cancer Research (IF=11.16)). He has applied for and been granted 21 patents. Furthermore, he has contributed to the compilation of seven orthopaedic monographs and expert consensus documents.
Since 2009, he has been teaching undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students at multiple institutions, including the Tongji University School of Medicine, Nanjing Medical University, Shanxi Medical University, Anhui Medical University, Xuzhou Medical University, and Nantong University School of Medicine, receiving consistent acclaim from both students and faculty. To date, he has independently supervised (including current) 32 graduate students, comprising 12 PhD candidates and 20 master's students. He has been honored with accolades such as the Tongji University "Award for Excellence in Teacher Ethics and Conduct," the Affiliated Tenth People's Hospital's "Outstanding Graduate Supervisor" (multiple times), and the Affiliated Tenth People's Hospital's "Science and Technology Elite" (multiple times).
