长期从事整形外科的医、教、研工作，在烧伤或创伤后畸形、先天性畸形、以及美容整形等方面积累了丰富的临床经验，在体表器官再造与整复，周围神经损伤修复和美容整形方面均具很高造诣。国内外首创应用吻合血管神经的足拇展肌游离移植一期治疗晚期面瘫的方法；国内外率先开展腹腔镜技术切取大网膜游离移植，治疗半侧颜面萎缩；改良了双圈法巨乳缩小术、双平面隆乳术等多种乳房整形术式。近年又在国内率先在整形外科开展腔镜技术，达到了国际先进水平，举办了近20次内窥镜技术规范化培训班，使整形外科和微创外科得到了理想的结合。
此外，作为国家首批干细胞临床研究备案基地科室带头人，近年来更是专注于细胞抗衰老，细胞治疗等前沿技术的临床转化和推广。目前承担国家、军队和上海市重大科研课题7项 研究。先后在国内外核心杂志上发表论文100余篇，其中26篇分别发表于Lancet、Glia、Plastic and ReconstructiveSurgery、Muscle andNerve 等权威杂志上。主编《泌尿生殖器及会阴肛门整形外科学》、《现代整形外科并发症的处置》，主译《面部整形与重建外科》，参编《外科手术学全集-整形烧伤外科卷》、《现代整形外科学》、《现代显微外科学》等专著。

He has beenengaged in the clinical, teaching and research work of plastic surgery for along time and accumulated abundant clinical experience in burn or post-traumaticdeformities, congenital deformities, and cosmetic plastic surgery. He has highattainments in surface organ reconstruction and plastic surgery, peripheralnerve injury repair and cosmetic plastic surgery. He is the first person in theworld who applied free vascularized abductor pollicis abductor muscletransplantation in the treatment of late facial paralysis. He also led the treatmentof hemifacial atrophy by Laparoscopic omentum excision and free transplantation,he improved the double-circle breast reduction, double-plane augmentationmammoplasty and other surgical operations. In recent years, he took the lead indeveloping endoscopy technology in plastic surgery in China, reaching theinternational advanced level. He held nearly 20 standardized training courseson endoscopy technology, which made the combination of plastic surgery andminimally invasive surgery.
In addition, asthe first batch of national stem cell clinical research record base departmentleader, he focused on the cell anti-aging, cell therapy and other frontiertechnology of clinical transformation and promotion. At present, he hasundertaken 7 studies on major scientific research projects of the state, thearmy and the municipal government. He has published more than 100 papers indomestic and overseas core journals, of which 26 were published inauthoritative magazines such as Lancet, Glia, Plastic and ReconstructiveSurgery, Muscle and Nerve.
He is the editor-in-chiefof Urogenital and Perineal Anal Plastic Surgery, Handling of Complications inModern Plastic Surgery, translator of Facial Plastic and ReconstructiveSurgery, and editor of Complete Works of Surgery - Plastic and Burn SurgeryVolume, Modern Plastic Surgery and Modern Microsurgery.
