We focus on using human pluripotent stem cells and organoids to model the physiological and pathological processes of the female reproductive system in vitro (including ovarian and uterine development, embryo implantation process, the diseases of premature ovarian failure, adenomyosis, repeated implantation failure, etc.), study the developmental mechanisms and pathogenesis, and explore new strategies for disease treatment. On this basis, translational medicine research on cell therapy and related drug screening will be developed.
Previously, we found several maternal and epigenetic factors can promoting somatic reprogramming and illustrated their mechanisms. Besides, we did researches of pathogenesis and cell therapy of female reproductive system diseases, including luteinized unruptured syndrome and premature ovarian failure. Some of the researches were published in the journals of Stem Cell Reports, Cell Proliferation. Two National Natural Science Foundation of China projects have been completed or under research.
