Recently, Bradley Britigan, Dean of the School of Medicine
at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC), and Kelly Caverzagie,
Associate Dean, visited Tongji University School of Medicine. Dean of
School of Medicine Zheng Jialin, Vice President Zhang Xiaoqing, Vice President
Yang Wenzhuo, Director Chen Lin, Director Zhao Xinxin and Director of
International Exchange and Cooperation Office Shen Huixia and relevant foreign
affairs teachers participated in the talks.
The
conference focused on the topics of medical education cooperation and fully
exchanged opinions on such subjects as medical education reform, general
medicine and rehabilitation medicine respectively and jointly studied the new
"results-oriented" education to be implemented by the University of
Nebraska Medical Center curriculum structure. After the meeting, Bradley
Britigan, Dean of UNMC School of Medicine and Kelly Caverzagie, Associate Dean
visited the North Shanghai Campus and Clinical Training Center accompanied by
Director Shen Huixia and discussed with the teachers in Teaching Offices and
Clinical Training Centers on the design of medical curricula and Reform to
explore.
During
the visit, UNMC guests visited affiliated Tongji Hospital and conducted
lectures entitled "Training Future Physicians" for hospital teachers.
Jin Lingjing, vice president of Tongji Hospital, Huang Lei, deputy director of
Education Department, Department Deputy Director Wu Heng, director of teaching
and research and clinical teacher representatives participated in the lectures
and talks, focus on the concept of medical education updates, basic and
clinical courses, the depth of integration, and the way to promote student
learning methods of education and other aspects of the discussion.
The
next day, UNMC President Bradley Britigan and Associate Dean Kelly Caverzagie
visited Shanghai 1st Maternity & Infant Hospital. Director of
the hospital, Dong Haiyan, HR leader Zhou Qian, director of neonatal Liu
Jiangqin and Dr. Zhou Ming attended the meeting. Chief of Personnel Division
Zhou Qian introduced the development of a scientific research teaching and
clinical service of a baby girl through PPT. Both sides discussed the doctor's
training and the curriculum reform. Subsequently, the foreign guests visited
the neonatology department, clinical training center and outpatient department
accompanied by a scientific research teaching team for infants and young
children to exchange views on such fields as telemedicine assistance and
simulation training center.
The Nebraska
University Medical Center is one of the nation's medical education reform
alliance and is in a leading position in the reform of the new curriculum
system.
As an
important strategic cooperative partner of Tongji University School of
Medicine, we have conducted in-depth cooperation in teacher training, student training
and clinical training. And this visit aims to relying on the leading position
of the reform of the U.S. curriculum system and its Cancer, organ
transplantation, infectious diseases and other strong disciplines to further
strengthen medical education system construction and clinical disciplines and
other fields of cooperation and development.
