Tongji University Clinical Medicine Accreditation was held on November 13^th to 16^th, 2017, Shanghai, China. The whole process was divided into several parts including Opening Ceremony, President’s Report, Dean’s Report, Visiting Tour, On-site Interviews, Face-to-face Conversations, and Feedback Meeting.

On November 13^th, the opening ceremony was held in Yifu Building. The Leaderships of Tongji University expressed warmly welcome to the members of the Expert Group and pointed out that Clinical Medicine Accreditation would be the tread of future international medical education. Carrying out this accreditation process was a comprehensive examination of professional education towards clinical medicine of Tongji University and would greatly enhance the education level of clinical medicine in our school. Furthermore, this accreditation process was important to the overall construction and development of Tongji University. During this opening ceremony, Dr. Zhong, Zhihua, the President of Tongji University made an overall report to the Expert Group and represented Tongji University to thank the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China and Export Group for such a great opportunity to learn and improve. Dr. Gu, Xiangling, the Vice President of Tongji University, presented a brief introduction of Tongji University and our medicine specialty. Finally, Prof. Li, Mengfeng, the Leader of the Expert Group, announced clinical accreditation procedures and introduced the key points for the Expert Group’s work.

After the Expert Group finished the four-day investigation, Tongji University Clinical Medicine Accreditation had come to an end. On November 16^th, 2017, Clinical Medicine Accreditation Feedback Meeting was held in Sino-French Center. The Expert Group completed their research of clinical medicine of Tongji University and focused on reaching the detailed information about specific education ideas of clinical medicine, training strategies, talent training approaches, talent training quality, interdisciplinary team building and teaching team building. During this meeting, Prof. Li, Mengfeng announced the preliminary report of Clinical Medicine Accreditation. Also, he presented several constructive suggestions to Tongji University, such as education aims and objectives, students’ evaluations, study programs, educational resources, evaluations, research, management and administration, reforming and future development, etc. Later on, Prof. Wu, Jiang, the Executive Vice President of Tongji University, announced a thank you speech and pointed out that this accreditation had facilitated Tongji University to further understand the importance of clinical medicine, make a practical and sustainable reform plan, and promote the healthy development of Tongji University School of Medicine. In the end, Dr. Zheng, Jialin Charles, the Dean of School of Medicine, gave his great appreciation to the Expert Group for pointing out the advantages and limitations in the clinical medicine, which could significantly improve the medical education level of Tongji University and help us to revive the clinical medicine.

Dr. Zhong, Zhihua, the President of Tongji University; Dr. Gu Xianglin, the Vice President of Tongji University; Dr. Chen Yihan, the Director of Medicine and Life Sciences Department, Tongji University ; Dr. Zheng, Jialin Charles, the Dean of Tongji University School of Medicine; Dr. Zhang, Jun, the Secretary of the Party Committee of Tongji University School of Medicine; Tongji University affiliated hospitals representatives and Tognji University administrative departments representatives.
