On
July 3rd, Tongji University School of Medicine (TUSM) held the
annual PI Retreat at the Yangzhi Affiliated Rehabilitation Hospital of Tongji
University. Present at this year's Retreat were: Prof. Zheng Jialin, Dean of
TUSM, Prof. Zhang Jun, Party Chief of TUSM, Prof. Yang Wenzhuo, Deputy
Dean of TUSM, Dr. Wang Cheng, Deputy President of the Yangzhi Affiliated
Rehabilitation Hospital, Mr. Li Jinsong (the guest speaker), Researcher of
Shanghai Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology (SIBCB), CAS, and some PIs.
The Retreat was hosted by Prof. Peng Luying, director of the professor
committee of TUSM.
Dr.
Wang Cheng first said in his speech that he was honored to have the PI Retreat
at the Shanghai Sunshine Rehabilitation Center (namely, the Yangzhi Affiliated
Rehabilitation Hospital of Tongji University) again. Then, he briefly
introduced the construction of the translational medicine research platform and
the adjusted talent policy. He sincerely welcomed the in-depth collaborative
research of TUSM professors on rehabilitation medicine.
Prof.
Zheng Jialin, our dean, then gave a speech. He expressed his gratitude to the
Yangzhi Rehabilitation Hospital for its unremitting support to our PI Retreats.
He also acknowledged that these retreats could provide a good platform for
academic exchanges among PIs, enabling laboratories learn from each other and
discuss scientific issues futher. They play an important role in improving our
scientific research level and promoting the development of our school.
In
the Retreat, Prof. Ge Baoxue and some other professors reported on their major
progress, and Mr. Li Jinsong also gave a report as our special guest. In the academic exchange part,
laboratories reported their major scientific progress over the past year. Their
research involved extensive and varied contents. They also fully interacted and
exchanged with each other.
In
the end, our Party Chief Zhang Jun made a summary. He suggested that the PI
Retreat should involve more clinicians so as to go further in translational
medicine research and talent development. He also put forward that the
professor committee should continue to make suggestions on and contribute more
to the development of TUSM.
The
meeting of professor committee was also held during the Retreat to discuss the
affairs of TUSM.
