Shanghai 1st Maternal and Infant Hospital is a
three-level specialist hospitals, Shanghai Institute of Gynecology and
Obstetrics Technology Cooperation Hospital, Shanghai civilized units.
Shanghai
1st Maternal and Infant Hospital was founded in February 1947, when it
was named Shanghai Municipal Maternal and Child Health Hospital, located at No.
96 Haining Road, Hongkou District, Shanghai.
In
June 1949, the hospital was taken over by the Municipal Military Commission and
became the unit directly under the Municipal Health Bureau. In November 1950,
the hospital was relocated to No. 536 Changle Road, Jing'an District, Shanghai
(formerly West-Central Sanatorium). June 1952 it changed name to Shanghai's
first maternal and child health hospital. May 1953, took over the Bethel Branch
(No. 21 Fuxing Road) for the Shanghai First Maternal and Child Health Hospital
Branch. In October 1958, the hospital was placed under the management of
Xincheng District (now Jing'an District), but the nature and tasks of municipal
hospitals remained unchanged. In November 1960, the Jing'an District Maternity
and Women in Jing'an District were assigned to the First Affiliated Hospital of
Shanghai Maternity and Infancy Hospital, located at No. 293 Jiangning Road,
Jing'an District, Shanghai. In 1964, Shanghai 1st Maternal and Infant
Hospital Branch moved to General Hospital. May 1965, the hospital returned to
Shanghai Health Bureau management. Shanghai 1950 senior midwifery vocational
school transferred to the Shanghai Health School. September 2005, the hospital
affiliated to the party and government under the Shanghai Shenkang Hospital
Development Center.
The
hospital consists of the General Hospital, Pudong Branch, the second practicing
point and Shanghai Women's Health Center. Since 1986, the hospital has been
named by the World Health Organization as "WHO cooperation center for
maternal and child health research and training" and "WHO
Collaborating Center on Perinatal Health Care." In 1992 through the first
national baby-friendly hospital review. 1993 Fudan University Medical College
(formerly Shanghai Medical University) Clinical Teaching Hospital. In 1995 was
named three level first-class hospital. In December 2006, Tongji University
became the first maternal and child health hospital.
Shanghai
1st Maternity and Infant Hospital is the only cooperation center for
maternal and infant health care training in China by WHO. Bearing the
obstetrics and gynecology teaching and research and the city's maternal and
child health care business management and guidance of the dual responsibilities.
In particular, prenatal diagnosis of high-risk pregnancies and birth defects
has become a hospital feature.
Hospital
obstetrics, women's health disciplines as the key disciplines, medical
education research overall coordinated development. Hospital prenatal diagnosis
center "prenatal diagnosis of birth defects" project was listed as
the emerging market-leading hospital technology projects. The "Congenital
Hearing Impairment Strategy and the Study of 130,000 Newborn Hearing
Screening" participated by the hospital won the first prize of Shanghai
Science and Technology Progress Award.
The
hospital covers an area of 10 mu, building area of 12,000 square meters, 242
approved beds. The hospital has an annual outpatient and emergency department
number of 400,000 person-times, annual discharge of more than 12,000
passengers, the average annual delivery volume of nearly 6000 cases. The
hospital has a full set of Oxford imported fetal care system, fetal heart rate
and the United States imported RITTER advanced examination bed, Europe and the
United States Giraffe multi-function incubator and neonatal radiation rescue
station, GE Abdominal cavity four-dimensional color stereoscopic ultrasound system,
imported abdominal cavity mirror and ultrasonic knife ligation and other
advanced equipment.
